Barry Bonds A Blue Jay??!!

With the release of malcontent and barely hitting DH Frank Thomas, the Toronto Blue Jays find themselves at a crossroads of sorts.  On the one hand they rid themselves of the moody, overweight, overpaid (they still have to pay him anyways) Thomas, but on the other hand, there is a void in the lineup which a Matt Stairs, or Rod Barajas will not fill, even despite Thomas’s recent struggles.  So what do the Jays do?  They sign Barry Bonds that’s what.  I know he’s a bigger malcontent than Thomas, and he’s up on perjury charges in the US, but Bonds proved last year that he can still hit.  He gets on base like few others in the game, and he would be a circus-type draw for Toronto at home.  I’m not saying I would like the move, but I think the move makes sense for a team that will in all likelyhood miss the playoffs for a 14th straight October.  Stay tuned.

Bonds get his bats made in Ottawa , just hours away from Toronto. He’d save a lot on shipping and handling. Might as well become a Jay.
